United Makeup Artists Expo

Headed to Liverpool this week to attend the United Makeup Artists Expo. An amazing show for professional and aspiring makeup artists.

I was invited to demo hair at the show, but being a big wuss I backed out and opted to attend and model makeup instead.

I was due to model for makeup artist, Rachy Creative, a Manchester born MAC MUA but a last minute change of plan got me modelling for Samantha Helen. Sam is a body art specialist, who has worked with brands like Coco Cola, Superdrug and much more. She is mega talented and I was happy to meet her.

On the day she did a demo of her makeup range "Essentials". She demonstrated on me the different techniques that could be used to create eye popping effects for camera. This included using toothbrushes and fingers as well as brushes from her range.

She also demonstrated handy techniques for working to adapt to the pressure of limited time on set. I got some great tips, I was so inspired by it all.

I met some amazingly talented people at the show. I was in awe of talented artist "Middle Aged Maker" who created an amazing clown on her stand and Jess Hopwood also wowed me with an amazing goblin.

As well as being inspired left, right and centre. I managed to pick myself up a few bits from the "2 Love My" skincare range, designed for makeup artists. I had been introduced to the brand on a Media Makeup course earlier this year and had been using it since to give mini facials and to prep for skin before applying makeup on my clients.

I also purchased Samantha Helen's Kaleidocolour palette of 12 water activated non-toxic face and body paints. I can't wait to have a play around with them soon.

Freebies are always welcomed and appreciated also, got some new free products to try. I'm Definitely looking forward to next years show.
